Walmart and Sam’s Club to Distribute COVID-19 Drugs Through Federal Pharmacy Program


BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA / KFTA) – Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies stand ready to receive and dispense COVID-19 antiviral drugs approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

According to a press release from Walmart, retailers will begin handing out Paxlovid and Molnupiravir this week as stocks last.

The release says the drug will only be available at select Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in a limited number of states until more supply is available.

The drug is only available with a prescription from a health care provider. Customers and healthcare providers can go to and use the store locator to find the nearest store that offers the drug to send the electronic prescription.

Since the drugs are prescribed for people with COVID-19, they will only be available at Walmart and Sam’s Club by curbside pickup or drive-through drugstore windows, the statement said.
