Real Madrid have been working on signing Kylian Mbappe from PSG for a very long time, and fans are hopeful that a deal with the Frenchman will be signed in January. I’m not sure why this won’t happen, but there was some concern among fans over quotes from Mbappe’s mother saying that talks with Paris-Saint Germain are going well regarding a contract extension with the club.
Even Mbappe, in his detailed interview with RMC Sport, did not reveal where he will play next season. But, one might assume it has more to do with just being professional and sticking to your contract with PSG, and less with wanting to re-sign with PSG.
But, of course, there is always a chance, and no one wants to rely on false hopes and assumptions. But, this latest development in the Real Madrid-Kylian Mbappe transfer saga could finally tell us what will happen in the first two months of 2022.
Real Madrid aim to start new era with Haaland and Mbappe as cornerstones
According to reliable journalist Gianluca Di Marzio via Eleven Sports PL, Real Madrid have already made a deal with Kylian Mbappe, and he has a contract ready to be signed in February. According to the report, only an “incredible surprise” can change Mbappe’s mind, as his decision is final.
Di Marzio has also said that Real Madrid will try to get Erling Haaland with Kylian Mbappe because it is important for them to start the new era with the two in the squad. I think it will be excellent in every aspect possible.
From a financial point of view this makes a lot of sense, from a marketing point of view it is obvious how crucial it will be for Madrid to have these kinds of superstars again. From a revenue point of view as well, and should I even mention their impact on the ground?
Coming back to Kylian Mbappe, I think this is another indication that Mbappe will definitely join Real Madrid next summer. I think signing the Frenchman would be the club’s top priority, and bringing in someone else, for now, is secondary.
The fact that they don’t have to deal with PSG and their weird antics to sign Mbappe is something that gives me a lot of joy. Real would also save a lot of money because they would get Mbappe without a transfer fee, and that money saved could be used on players like Haaland, maybe a center-back, a right-back.
The puzzle is not complete. There are a lot of holes to fill, but I’m pretty sure the club are looking to move forward one after the other. All I can say is 2022 can’t come sooner.
