New medicine vending machine will help Pleasant Township firefighters

By Hannah Poling

A medicine vending machine has been delivered and is ready for use at the Pleasant Township Fire Department.

The announcement was made at a recent board meeting.

According to the officials of the municipality, the machine will facilitate the resupply after the races for the firefighters. The vending machine will be used after returning from shopping to restock with necessary items such as medications before going out for the next emergency. The machine will dispense the medication and all medication tracking is done directly inside the machine, which is also linked to the internet and station systems.

The vending machine will help streamline the process of distributing these needed supplies in a timely manner to the department.

In other news, Pleasant Township’s annual pancakes with Santa have been canceled this year. The fire station will continue to accept and provide firefighter collection toys for children. Toy donations can be dropped off at the Pleasant Township Fire Department. Those in need of help during the holiday season can contact the fire department during regular business hours at 614-877-4375.

Administrators in the Township of Pleasant have received complaints from residents that their recyclables are not being picked up. The trustees wish to remind residents that all garbage and recyclables must be taken out by 7:00 a.m. on the appropriate pickup day in order to be collected.

The Central Ohio Solid Waste Authority is considering potentially changing rates for non-Franklin counties. They will use a public approval process and create a Southwest Tariff Advisory Council, which would invite one person to participate to represent each community on the council. Administrator Ed Sheets will represent Pleasant Township.
