EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — On Wednesday morning, Walmart and Sam’s Club officials announced that their pharmacies have begun distributing licensed COVID-19 antiviral drugs Paxlovid and Molnupiravir in El Paso through Federal Retail Pharmacy Therapeutics. United States program.

Since COVID-19 antiviral drugs are prescribed for people with COVID-19, they are only available at Walmart and Sam’s Club via curbside pickup or through drive-thru drug store windows.

Walmart has worked closely with federal and state health departments to select locations where states have determined treatment is most needed. Although the initial supply of treatment is limited, Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies are ready to help expand access to treatment nationwide.

We are committed to working with our state and federal partners to provide access to new treatment options such as licensed COVID-19 antiviral drugs, as they become available.

This provides customers with the ability to recover at home and helps reduce the burden on our hospitals and communities.

As we have done since the beginning of the pandemic, we are proud to support our communities on a daily basis
essentials, healthy food, vaccines, medicines and other healthcare needs as we all work together to tackle the pandemic.
